Download free market data from National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India

Chartoasis.com recommends downloading market data for Indian equities traded on NSE from nseindia.com because data is more up to date when downloading from there. The data format is recognized by Chartoasis.com's free technical analysis software automatically.
To download market data:
  1. Visit http://nseindia.com/
  2. Select "Equity / Historical data" from the top menu.
    To download historical data from NSE select Equity / Historical data first
  3. Click "Security-wise Data" on the next page.
    Then click Security-wise data
  4. Set up download parameters in the next page.
    • Keep Security wise price volume data checked.
    • NSE Symbol: Enter the NSE Symbol of the wanted equity here. If you do not know the exact name you can find the list of equities available on NSE here.
    • Series: Set to EQ. (This means normal market)
    • From Date and To Date: Set these up according to your needs. Do not forget to set the time interval long enough for the analysis. (The longer the better)

  5. Click "Get results".
  6. Got to the bottom of the page where some of the data appears and find the link "Download file in csv format":

  7. Right-click on the "Download file in csv format" link, and select "Save Link As...". Save data into a ".csv" file. (Set extension to ".csv")
